The Masters in Performing Arts is envisioned for students who have a strong base of dance and are looking for avenues beyond a performing career. The program hopes to give a structured intervention at the PG level of related aspects like writing, music, Nattuvangam, Choreography and so on. The primary aim of the program is not just to help the students hone their skills of dance exclusively but also gain knowledge about the
various other aspects which will help them gain an integrated sense of the art form as a whole. Thus, Bharatanatyam being the core paper, each semester will also have, alongside, papers on Carnatic music, nattuvangam, makeup, choreography and so on. MA Performing Arts - Bharathanatyam (Weekend Programme) Timings of the Programme: Saturday - 8 AM to 4 PM | Sunday - 9 AM to 5 PM
Music is an artform which enables expression throughout all areas of the experiences psychology scientifically pursues. The Music and Psychology programme provides an integrated understanding of both disciplines. The programme aims to develop musical, artistic and psychological skills in practical ways to build experience
grounded in scientific backing with familiarity in emerging technologies. Students who have secured 75% marks and above in the first six semesters are eligible to qualify for a 4-year degree (Honours / Honours with Research) in Psychology, or may be eligible to pursue an Honours degree in Music.
The Bachelors in Performing Arts is envisioned for students who have a flair for dance, music and theatre and are looking for structured intervention at the UG level. The programme hopes to give a strong platform for our students to develop a passion for the arts, sharpen their artistic skills and broaden their theoretical base. While the focus will be predominantly within the parameters of dance, music and theatre, other art forms would act as subsidiaries under this three-dimensional approach. The primary aim of the programme is not to make students experts in one art form or the other, but introduce them to the possibilities with art and to help them get an
integrated sense of art. It is desirable that every student continues to work under an artist/group in one art form or the other outside curriculum, towards long term development. The programme aims to develop performing arts and psychological skills in practical ways to build experience grounded in scientific backing with familiarity in emerging technologies. Students who have secured 75% marks and above in the first six semesters are eligible to qualify for a 4-year degree (Honours / Honours with Research) in Psychology, or if recommended by faculty may pursue an Honours in Dance,Music or Theatre.
